I have always been interested in art and excelled at school. Unfortunately, as was often the way, my father saw no future in it, telling me that “you need a proper career”!
So off I went to catering college.
Although I studied catering, Art was never far away in my work. My creativity shone through, and in presentation and flamboyance I was able to express myself. Due to this insatiable desire for all things creative and beautiful, I worked professionally as a cake decorator for many years.
I owned my own business, and taught sugarcraft at college level. I enjoyed demonstrating here and abroad as it brought together my love of art, catering skills and teaching.
I wanted to perfect my skill in watercolours and started painting seriously, going semi-professional in 1998.
Since then, my style has developed and evovled into what you see today.
Using watercolour & ink, I try to capture the essence and simplicity of nature, bringing a sense of life, movement, fun and enjoyment to each piece.
I hope you will find my pieces as enjoyable and expressive as I do.
