Welcome to our Amber section.

Amber is a fossilised resin of trees that existed from twenty to thirty million years ago, and some Amber is thought to be as old as 40-60 million years.  As the ancient forests oozed this golden, honey-like liquid, insects, plants and grasses often became trapped in the Amber. Consequently in every piece of Amber you can see the frozen flow of time.

For hundreds of years people have attributed healing properties and good fortune to Amber.

80% of the world's Amber comes from an ancient forest source in the Baltic Region. This area is known to be the finest for Amber world wide.

Dragonflies pride ourselves on only supplying the real thing, and will guarantee all our Amber is genuine Baltic Amber. We only use the best polish designers who are experienced at handling Amber's complexities.

Amber comes in many colour variations,  Cognac, instantly recognized by most. Green, varying shades from olive to dark greens. Cherry, a rich deep red colour. Lemon, much lighter and yellow shades. Opaque White, Butterscotch, and Antique, all suggesting Whites through to yellows.
